Jacob discovered his love for music at a young age. Growing up in a large Samoan family and church, he was surrounded by music all the time. Whether it was pop songs played through a radio, hymns sung at church or even classical music played on tv shows. He loved it all. His father played in various bands growing up and passed down the importance of music to Jacob and his siblings. His sisters took up piano from a young age to help out in church which is where Jacob fell in love with singing.
He got his first solo in church at the age of 6 and has been working on his skills since. At the age of 15 he started to learn piano by ear before taking a few lessons to further his knowledge. At the age of 16 he started filling in for his school choir teacher, as well as teaching his church choir. In 2017, Jacob participated in the Schools Spectacular core choir and later had the opportunity to sing in a part of a backing choir for Guy Sebastian’s 2018 Australia Day performance. Since then Jacob has worked on honing his craft through teaching and arranging for choirs and has recently completed his Bachelor of Forensic Science. Being mostly self taught, Jacob understands the importance of patience and encouragement. He couples this with engaging lesson plans and strives to make these the forefront of every lesson to ensure that our next generation of musicians are well equipped as they embark on their musical journey.
